After losing a season ago, the Spurs got their revenge. The Spurs won the series convincingly in five games. This game was full of dramatics right off the bat as game one was dubbed “cramp game“. After the air conditioning broke at AT&T Stadium, Lebron James was unable to finish the game. Once he exited the game, the Spurs outscored Miami 36-17 and went on to win game one easily.
Miami bounced back in game two behind a strong game by Lebron James who added 35 points and ten rebounds. Unfortunately, it was the only game of the series Miami would win. After three very strong games by Kawhi Leonard, he was named MVP of the series. Leonard scored at least 20 points in the final three games of the series, having double digit rebounds in both game four and five.
The series was the last time Miami’s Big Three, consisting of Lebron James, Dwyane Wade, and Chris Bosh, played together. James fled in the offseason back to his hometown team, the Cleveland Cavaliers.
