CMT_1108_AxelrodIt was the moment that became bigger than football.  Was a professional football player really being bullied by a fellow teammate? That was what was rumored to have gone on in the Miami Dolphins locker room this season.

The story broke when offensive tackle Jonathan Martin abruptly left practice after an incident in the cafeteria with the rest of his teammates.  Immediately, fingers pointed to fellow offensive lineman Richie Incognito as the main bully in the matter.  Voicemails containing Incognito threatening Martin and using racial slurs were released to the public shortly after.  However, in a sit down interview with Jay Glazer, he explained that that was just how the two spoke to another on a daily basis.  He went further to explain that the two had a brotherly relationship; something the Miami teammates all agreed with.

The matter is still not resolved even after the NFL hired Manhattan based lawyer Ted Well to do a private investigation into the matter.  Neither player has played since the incident became public, Incognito being suspended and Martin being put on the NFI, non-football injury, list. There are already rumors that neither player will be on the 2014 roster.
