Winning the BCS Championship one year is an accomplishment, to win two in two years is almost unheard of. Â However, the Alabama Roll Tide rolled past undefeated Notre Dame to win their second glass trophy in two years. Â The team had a great season, but suffered a loss to Heisman Trophy Winner Johnny Manziel and the Texas A&M Aggies.
In the game they faced a Notre Dame team who impressed many, but seemed to be overrated. Â Running back Eddie Lacy, now with the Green Bay Packers, won the MVP award for the game; he had 140 yards on 20 carries, including a touchdown. Â It was routing by Alabama who won 42-14 to crush Notre Dame’s hopes of having a perfect season.
The team was becoming a dynasty with Nick Saban running the show and everyone expected the Tide to compete for their third title in a row, however, after a wild loss to the Auburn Tigers, Alabama will not be in the big game. Instead they will compete in the Sugar Bowl against Oklahoma.
