40-0. In 2012, we witnessed perfection. Baylor may be remembered for producing the very exciting quarterback Robert Griffin III, but it also produced a perfect record for the women’s basketball team led by the unbelievably talents Brittney Griner. Griner was unstoppable on the court. Nobody could matchup to her and nobody could shoot over her. She took home Player of the Year to go along with the National Championship she and her teammates brought to Texas.
She came under criticism after electing to not go to the Olympics and represent the United States. However, how can we fault someone for choosing to stay in school? The humble star says she still has a lot of room for improvement. She says that in practice her coach, Kim Mulkey, has tried to challenge her to be better on getting offensive rebounds. In my eyes, she is a star and has an incredible career ahead of her. This is not the last we will hear of Brittney Griner.
