In further efforts to distance themselves from the legal drama surrounding former tight end Aaron Hernandez, the New England Patriots are offering fans who own a Hernandez jersey the chance to exchange it for a different one. Â The Patriots Pro Shop is offering fans the chance to pick out a different jersey of equal value on July 6-7th. Â Their intent is to help parents who do not want their children wearing Hernandez’s jersey after being charged with first degree murder this week.
Hernandez continues to sit in Bristol County Jail after being denied bail for a second time. Â He was charged with first degree murder of Odin Lloyd and five firearm charges. He is also currently being listed as a “Person on Interest” in a double homicide from 2012. Â Police also have the two other men who were seen with Hernandez and Lloyd the night of Lloyd’s murder. Â There is no exact motive yet, but many believe that Hernandez felt disrespected by Lloyd after he was talking to people Hernandez did not like.
