Things just got pretty awkward for disgraced Patriots star Aaron Hernandez and his fiancé Shayanna Jenkins. Jenkins, who has been present for most of the trial, will now be called as a witness for the prosecution.
Prosecutors in the murder case against Hernandez have granted Jenkins immunity and could call her to testify against him. If she refuses, she could be held in contempt and thrown in jail.
Jenkins had been charged in connection to the murder of Hernandez’s former friend Odin Lloyd. Prosecutors allege that she was responsible for hiding the murder weapon and lied to the grand jury. Jenkins is the mother of Hernandez’s two-year old daughter and Lloyd was dating Jenkins’ sister at the time of his death.
