Minnesota Vikings running back Adrian Peterson failed to show Friday for the disciplinary hearing on his abuse case. He agreed to have the meeting scheduled last week according to a league official.  The NFL stated the running back would not have an alternative meeting date to talk about his actions. It is not like it was not an exact time. The meeting was previously going to be set for Tuesday but the NFLPA was unavailable that day.
A league official was obviously disappointed by Peterson’s decision not to show. They told ESPN, “We had hoped that Adrian would take advantage of his opportunity to be heard and present whatever information he believes should be considered before a decision on discipline, counseling and services is made. Because he and the NFLPA elected not to do so, we will have to address this based on the information currently available to us.”
Friday’s meeting was supposed to be a lot more significant than the conference call that had been set. Peterson’s disciplinary actions and decisions on his future were going to be discussed and it would have been a resolved situation.
The NFLPA and the league are still going back and forth with Peterson’s case so it still might be a while until anything is actually taken care of.
