A parent’s worse nightmare has become Minnesota running back Adrian Peterson’ reality. This morning, Peterson received the news that his 2-year-old son was in critical care after being beaten, by a man trusted by the baby’s mother. Jordan Patterson, the baby’s mother’s boyfriend, was charged with two counts of aggravated battery of an infant and aggravated domestic assault. Adrian’s father confirmed the sad news to a local newspaper, “All I can say is, we are asking for prayers and for respect for our family as we deal with this tragic situation,” said Nelson Peterson, Adrian’s father.
The little boy is one of Adrian’s two sons. Peterson was unsure about the paternity of the child, and has never contacted the mother or the son. Peterson was at Vikings practice this morning, but missed yesterday’s practice due to a sickness in the family. My prayers are with the little boy and hope that he pulls through. This is one of the most disgusting stories ever reported and hopefully the person responsible gets what they deserve. He is expected to speak momentarily….
Adrian Peterson addressed the media thanking everyone during this time of tragedy. He confirmed that he will play on Sunday against the Panthers. His son is still in critical condition and some say he may not pull through.
