Maybe some good news for 49ers LB Aldon Smith. Smith was recently arrested at LAX after allegedly yelling “Bomb!” at the airport. He was described as belligerent and unwilling to cooperate with authorities. An incredibly stupid move and one that could have cost him up to a year in jail.
Police announced today that he will not be charged with a felony, but instead the charge was lowered to a misdemeanor. The exact charge is still unknown, but prosecutors are allegedly deciding whether to charge him with falsely claiming a bomb.
What a mess this young talented player has become. This is exactly what you do not want to happen once you enter the league. Stay humble. Stay grounded. Never act like you are above the law and allowed to do as you please. It is unclear if the 49ers plan to pick up his contract for next season. He is still under contract for the upcoming season.
