Last night was the skills section of NBA All-Star weekend. While the skills are fun, most people just tune it for the slam dunk contest. Some of the greatest dunks have been executed during the contest, but recently it seems to have lost its appeal. Most people want to blame this on Lebron James who has yet to perform in the contest and instead sits on the bleachers and takes in the contest as a spectator. However, this all cannot be blamed on one superstar and other superstars should step up.
Regardless, last night’s contest got off to a very slow start including back to back players failing to complete their dunks. The contest did get exciting in the championship round between Toronto Raptors rookie Terrence Ross and last year’s winner Utah Jazz player Jeremy Evans. Ross edged out Evans as the champion in the end. Take a look at his dunks including one where he pays homage to former Toronto Raptor and dunk expert Vince Carter which actually outshines the dunk in which he jumps over a nine year old boy!
