The 2017 MLB postseason is about to kick off and it will be an all-out battle for the ultimate prize, the World Series trophy, at the end of October. First up, the two Wild Card games must take place. Tonight’s matchup will be between the New York Yankees and the Minnesota Twins in the Bronx in what will be an interesting game for baseball fans.
The New York Yankees had a strong performance in the 2017 regular season, being led by rookie phenom Aaron Judge, a strong bullpen, and a good managerial performance from Joe Girardi. The team finished the season with a 91-71 record, their best since 2012. The Bronx Bombers are definitely ready to make their voices and bats heard.
On the other side of things, the Minnesota Twins completely shocked the baseball world this season. After losing a franchise record 103 games last season, they are the first team in MLB history to make the playoffs after losing 100+ games the season prior. Manager Paul Molitor was extensively praised about turning his team around after a heartbreaking 2016 season and they are set to prove they belong in the postseason.
Yankee Stadium will serve as host to the game and you know all of New York City will be buzzing. Aaron Judge, Joe Mauer, Brian Dozier, Gary Sanchez, and company are ready for what will be quite the show to kick off playoff baseball.
