It is hard to imagine that the Boston Bruins were almost eliminated. The Bruins have become the most unstoppable team in all of professional sports. Now they are one game away from sweeping the number one seed in the Eastern Conference. Could there be something bigger than the Bruins going on?
The Bruins are doing what the Celtics could not do. They are bringing back joy to a city that was terrorized just weeks ago. It was during the Bruins-Sabres matchup that we got to witness a true display of patriotism. It was a moment bigger than any game and the NHL. It was the first time since Mike Piazza’s home run in 2001 that sports had brought a town together. With the Bruins carrying such an emotional load, they seem to have the highest NHL Stanley Cup odds of winning. However, they will have to do it without forward Gregory Campbell. Campbell broke his leg during last night’s game while blocking a shot.
While it will tough for the Bruins to replace Campbell, they have gotten through hard times in the playoffs already. The Bruins have shown the city of Boston that even when things look bleak, you can get through it and come out on top. The Boston Bruins are #BostonStrong.
