68378116While many of the men selected in this weekend’s MLB draft are thinking about what number they will wear and meeting their favorite players, Cory Hahn is just happy to be alive. The 21-year-old college student is a student coach at ASU, but he used to be a top outfielder.  Initially drafted by the San Diego Padres in 2010, Hahn opted instead to go to college.  During his third game, Hahn slid head first that left him paralyzed from the chest down.

While the injury may have crushed his dreams at first, Hahn still remains positive about his future.  “”For all we know I could start walking tomorrow, or a year, or two years, five years, 10 years. . .  The body reacts in such a different way for everybody, you just don’t know. I kind of like that idea instead of someone saying, ‘Hey, look, it’s never going to happen.’ That’s not how I think. If it never happens, I’ll let you know when that time comes,”  Hahn said last year.  Hahn lives a pretty normal life.  He even drives a customized car given to him by an anonymous donor Hahn was drafted in the 34th round to represent the number he used to wear.
