brian-cashman-skydiving-2Have things for the Bronx Bombers gotten so bad that it has come to this?  Not exactly, but that Yankees General Manager Brian Cashman did jump out of a plane, not once, but twice this morning.   Cashman along with New York Daily News reporter John Harper (who did not jump, but instead tweeted all the details), went up in the sky to bring awareness to the Wounded Warrior Project.  The Wounded Warrior Project is an awesome charity that provides wounded servicemen with the proper services and programs that they need to make a transition back to civilian life.   Cashman said this about his choice to sky dive for the cause, “I like doing new things. I like challenges and stuff like that. This is a great opportunity, and a great opportunity to raise awareness.” It is definitely something new and a good cause.
However, his second jump did not go as smoothly as the first one.  When Cashman came in for a landing, he said that he heard a pop in his ankle and civilians said that they saw his bone sticking out.  The original diagnosis was that he had a broken ankle, but Cashman was rushed to a local hospital for further evaluation.  Looks like the Yankees have someone else to add to their DL!
Please check out the Wounded Warrior Project’s Facebook page to thank a warrior!  It only takes a minute and it will put a smile on a hero’s face!
