Very scary news for Denver Broncos safety Rahim Moore. He called the Broncos last night expressing that he was in severe pain. This morning, Moore had emergency surgery after being diagnosed with lateral compartment syndrome. The syndrome occurs when there is pressure in the muscles that restricts blood flow. The injury can be so severe, Moore could have lost half of his leg. Interim coach Jack Del Rio addressed the situation with the media earlier and said he had never dealt with a situation like this. He explained the condition as “he had a muscle bleeding”.
The injury occurred last night during the Broncos game against the Kansas City Chiefs. The Broncos won the game, but Moore was unable to play the entire game. Denver travels to Foxborough this weekend to play the New England Patriots. Moore will more than likely be unable to play this Sunday and it is unclear when he will be able to play again. The Broncos did state that putting the safety on injured reserve was a possibility. We are all more concerned and hoping that he makes a full recovery!
