It is the day no Indianapolis fan ever saw coming just a few years ago. That is because just a few years ago, Peyton Manning was leading the Colts year after year to a winning season. Now, after his fourth neck surgery, Manning will suit up in Indianapolis, but for the Denver Broncos. It will be an emotional day for all involved and it was only magnified after Colts’ owner Jim Irsay publicly commented on the situation. To read about his comments, click here.
On the field, the Broncos have been on a tear. They remain undefeated and have averaged over 40 points a game. Manning is already a strong candidate for Most Valuable Player and the season is not even half way over. The Colts have had their struggles this season, most recently on Monday Night losing to the San Diego Chargers. The Chargers made sure to keep the ball out of Andrew Luck’s hand for the most of the game. The Broncos defense will need to keep Luck and the Colts offense off the field as well. Luckily, they get a boost this week as linebacker Von Miller has been activated. Miller was suspended the first six games of the season after failing a drug test.
This is such a big moment for Peyton Manning and while he has not always done well in the spotlight, this week he gets it done. The Broncos have too many weapons for defenses to cover and all seem to be playing at an elevated level. It is rare to see this offense make a mistake and they will probably play very close to perfect as they have in past weeks. This will be a good test for the Broncos as the Colts will likely make the playoffs and these teams could face each other again in the future. Peyton wins an emotional won and the Broncos cruise to 7-0. Broncos vs. Colts- who you takin?
