NFL players really need a babysitter in the offseason. While most people have been focused on the Aaron Hernandez drama, Eagles running back Bryce Brown has become affiliated with a dog fighting ring. It is quite ironic that Brown’s teammate is Michael Vick who was arrested in 2007 and spent 21 months in jail for operating an illegal dog fighting ring.
Brown’s pitbull, Ellis, and her seven puppies were seized back in May after being tied to an illegal dog breeder. Joseph Sudbrink was arrested on Friday for allegedly mistreating animals. Brown bought the dog in 2010, but gave her back to Sudbrink when she became pregnant. Sudbrink, who runs Northland Pits in Wichita, Kansas, offered to help Ellis give birth and help ween the puppies off their mother. Unfortunately, the dog was still there when police came in and seized with nearly 20 other dogs. The dogs have since been returned to Brown and he is not charged with any wrongdoings. I think it is time for training camp to start. These athletes are getting involved with all the wrong people!
