Many people may think this game is a non factor, one guy has had this game circled for months. Â Darrelle Revis will visit the team who traded him in the offseason, as well as it being his first game back since reconstructive ACL surgery. Somebody else excited for today is rookie quarterback Geno Smith who gets the start today after Mark Sanchez went down with a shoulder injury. Â Many might not find this game exciting, but the Jets are always entertaining. Â Even when they do not play well it is all anybody can talk about.
Revis has worked hard in his recovery to be ready for today. Â “When I go out to practice, I just try to make plays like I have in the past. That’s how I’ve got to approach it. I can’t sit here and get down on myself if I don’t, if I’m a step late on a play,” he said. He admitted to “spilling the beans” to his new teammates about the Jets angering many Jets fans in the process. Â The Jets do have history on their side; they have a 9-1 record against the Bucs, but history will most likely not come in to play with this Jets roster.
Geno Smith did not play well in preseason and there is no way he is ready to start a game yet, but this is the Jets. Â One player to look for is Sheldon Richardson who was the Jets other first round draft pick. Â He has the size to collapse the pocket and help the Jets with their pass rush. Â Despite the poor play that is expected in this game, everyone will be tuning in just for the theatrics and drama that comes with the New York Jets. Â Jets vs. Bucs- who you takin? More importantly, will Revis pick off the young Smith during the game?
