After your goaltender posts an amazing 43-save shutout to win a first-round series in six games, normally you would cheer when they enter, but the Montreal Canadiens did something a little different.
If it weren’t for Brandon Prust, Carey Price’s entrance probably would’ve drew a lot of cheers and a huge applause, but instead, Prust encouraged a silent treatment prank on Price. Finally, Dale Weise cracks as the team celebrates their goaltender that helped them advance.
The shutout was Price’s second of the post-season and his fifth career shutout in the playoffs. Without him, the Senators would have probably forced a game seven back in Montreal. With every single part of his body, Price made stops, including an incredible save on Senators’ Mika Zibanejad and Mike Hoffman, and managed to keep up with constant heavy blasts from the blueline.
With last night’s victory, the Canadiens will move on to the second round to face the winner of the first-round matchup between Tampa Bay Lightning and Detroit Red Wings.
A series between the Canadiens and Red Wings would be ideal, seeing as Price posted a shutout against Detroit during the regular season.
