A nervous Carey Price had a huge night as a four-time winner in Las Vegas at the 2015 NHL Awards on Wednesday night.
Montreal Canadiens goaltender Price took home the Hart Trophy for being the NHL’s most valuable player, the Vezina Trophy as the League’s best goaltender, and the Ted Lindsay Award for being the most outstanding player. In addition, he was awarded a share of the William M. Jennings Trophy with Chicago Blackhawks Corey Crawford. This award is given to the goalies on the teams that allowed the least amount of goals in the regular season.
At 27, Price is the first NHL goalie to make history, sweeping all four of those awards, and the second player in Canadiens history to win four. The first was Guy Lafleur, who won the Hart Trophy, Ted Lindsay Award (formerly known as the Lester B. Pearson Award), Art Ross Trophy and Conn Smythe Trophy in 1977.
Though he still hasn’t won a Stanley Cup, these four victories seem to fill the void just a bit.
