After losing Game 4 in Boston, Knicks players including Kenyon Martin and JR Smith vowed that this game would go no further than Game 5. They even insisted on wearing all black suits to insinuate the “Celtics’ funeral”. It was far from the death of Boston who looked great tonight especially with a resurgent effort by Jason Terry. Kevin Garnett also had a great night on both ends of the floor with 16 points and 18 rebounds; numbers that look like a Garnett of ten years ago. So where did this resurgence come from exactly? “We didn’t panic and that’s something we’ve done, but we didn’t,” coach Doc Rivers said. “I thought once the game got back to that five, six area, our guys were good again.” Rivers has always tried to keep his players calm which is one of the benefits of having a veteran team.
However, history is against the Celtics. No team has ever come back to win the series after being down three games. However, momentum has shifted towards the Celtics especially now that they are headed home. The Knicks should start to be worried as it looks like the Celtics will not go down easily.
