No Rajon Rondo. No Pao Gasol. Dwight Howard a go. Two superstars out, but one is ready to make his return tonight. Rondo has been out after tearing his ACL against Atlanta. Gasol recently broke his plantar fascia against Brooklyn and will miss at least a month. However, good news for Laker fans. Center Dwight Howard will make his return tonight after missing three straight games.
Both of these teams have been performing better without their superstars as of late. While the Celtics are clinging on to the last spot in the Eastern Conference playoff picture, the Lakers are still on the outside looking in. Superstar Kobe Bryant has turned into a motivator calling Dwight Howard out publicly saying that the team needs him to play through the pain which Dwight seems to be doing tonight. While it is good to see Howard returning, he is facing Kevin Garnett tonight.
Garnett knows how to play the mental game and will wear Howard down. I give the advantage to the Celtics for that reason alone. I also expect “Kobe the distributor” to NOT show up tonight. Celtics vs. Lakers, who you takin?
