The domestic violence case against Colorado Avalanche’s goalie Semyon Varlamov has been dismissed. He was originally arrested on October 30th for allegedly knocking her to the ground and dragging her by her hair in their apartment. Police have decided that if they were to go to court they would not be able to get a conviction.
Denver District Attorney Spokeswoman Lynn Kimbrough commented on the case earlier, “This is not an indication that we didn’t believe our victim. It is . . . simply not having the ability to prove it.” He could have faced the possibility of two years in jail if convicted. Varlamov’s attorney Saskia Jordan said that his client was thankful for all the support he received both from the Avalanche and their fans.
