Andrew Luck led one of the most improbable comebacks last week against the Kansas City Chiefs. Down 28, Luck managed to overcome three interceptions to survive another week and face off with Tom Brady. Brady is a playoff veteran, but surprisingly has only been 7-7 over his last fourteen playoff games.
Brady has had a down year statistically, but it has actually been one of his best year’s given the talent around him. He has now lost his top three targets from last season, but has found a way to keep his team in games week after week. When these teams played each other last season, it was Brady and the Patriots who dominated the Colts. However, Andrew Luck has also managed to keep his team in every game, engineering many late game winning drives.
For Luck to win this game, he will have to minimize the interceptions. Last week he had three interceptions and against the Patriots last season he also had three. Keeping Tom Brady on the sideline will have to be priority number one for Indianapolis. Handing the ball to Brady more will significantly hurt the Colts chances of winning. Last season, TY Hilton had a lot of success against New England, meaning the Patriots will mainly focus on taking him out of the game. Since Reggie Wayne went down, Hilton has become Luck’s favorite target. The Colts are without receiver Darius Heyward-Bey who suffered a hamstring injury and newly signed Deion Branch will be inactive tonight.
The Colts have become one of the most entertaining teams to watch. Tom Brady is one of the greatest to ever play. This game should be pretty exciting. Colts vs. Patriots- who you takin?
