It was heartbreaking to hear beloved sideline reporter Craig Sager had been diagnosed with leukemia. The announcement came via his son who asked everyone to keep his dad in their prayers. Of course everyone obliged, but we were all stuck wondering who was going to fill Sager’s spot and more importantly who is going to sport those dapper suits he has become famous for.
Well, no one has quite the same swag as Sager, The NBA on TNT crew tried to honor their friend with their choice in wardrobe. Charles Barkley, Kenny Smith, Ernie Jonson, and the big guy Shaq all donned bright and colorful attire for him.
However, the best moment came during the San Antonio Spurs-Dallas Mavericks game. It came time to interview Spurs head coach Gregg Poppovich who is well-known for his brief and concise interviews. With no Sager who were they going to get to interview the legendary coach? None other than Craig Sager Jr. got the honor to interview Pop. Pop kept his answers short as always, but he gave a special message to Craig. Craig Sager we all miss you! Get healthy soon!
