News has flooded out of Dallas that the contract negotiations between the Dallas Cowboys and star running back Ezekiel Elliott have come to terms on a 6-year contract extension that will reportedly pay him $90 million dollars.
According to multiple reports, Elliott is already returning back to Dallas from Cabo San Lucas He has been training for the upcoming season just in case the deal gets done. According to ESPN, the Cowboys have reportedly been acting with a sense of urgency to close on this deal, being that the first game of the Cowboys season starts this Sunday against the New York Giants.
Jerry Jones spoke with 105.3 The Fan in Dallas stating “We’ll see how today goes, we’ll see how tomorrow goes. We’ll see how the ensuing hours pan out”.
According to multiple sources- a press conference will be held Wednesday with an update to the contract negotiations. Needless to say, the next two days will be very important to solidify the deal with the Cowboys star running back.
The news came shortly after Dallas signed right tackle La’el Collins to a five year, $50 million contract extension. Boasting a guaranteed $35 million, making him a top paid right tackle. This move created $5.7 million dollars in cap space for the Cowboys this season, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter.
