Being that we are in the sixth month of 2018, nothing should shock me when it comes to President Trump. Sadly, I still find myself acting incredulous. As if it was not already a busy day surrounding the President inserting himself in sports, insert Dennis Rodman. Dennis Rodman is heading to Singapore ahead of President Trump’s planned summit with North Korea’s leader Kim Jong Un. As if that was not shocking enough, he will play a role in negotiations. Yes, nuclear deals are being brokered by the guy who wore a wedding dress and married himself. If that does not say 2018, I don’t know what does!
Seriously though, this is not okay. Rodman has absolutely no experience brokering international deals. His only qualification is Un has some “bromance” as Un was a fan of Rodman as a player. Rodman told TMZ he gave Un a copy of Trump’s book “The Art of the Deal” for his birthday. Yes, Dennis Rodman gave the North Korean dictator a birthday gift and it was Trump’s book.
To be fair, Rodman’s rep Darren Prince told the New York Post that no trip to Singapore has been scheduled. That does not mean he would not go if asked. He would if his expertise would help.
The summit is scheduled, again, for June 12th at 9:00AM which correlates to June 11th 9:00PM EST.
