The only person, besides Matt Barnes, that is waking up happy to the news of Derek Fisher’s arrest is Tiger Woods. After a week of having his embarrassing mugshot and arrest video on every news network, a different former athlete will now be the talk of every news network.
Early on Sunday morning, Fisher was driving with his girlfriend Gloria Govan on the Ventura 101 when their car flipped, according to TMZ Sports. Luckily, neither Fisher nor Govan were injured in the accident. Police arrived on the scene and determined that Fisher had been drinking. According to TMZ Sports, Fisher collided with the raised concrete curb and the car flipped over one time.
It has been a tough year for Fisher who was fired last season as the Knicks head coach. Earlier this year, his home was broken into and his five NBA championship rings were all reportedly stolen.
Hopefully this will be the week athletes learn to call a driver or and Uber when they drink.
