Life after baseball has been pretty good for Derek Jeter. He is still one of the most beloved athletes of all time, founded The Player’s Tribune, and has been enjoying the company of supermodel Hannah Davis. The Player’s Tribune was Jeter’s was of giving athletes their own platform to write blog posts, about their thoughts and feelings directly, to the public.
In a personal post to the site, Jeter talks about his one-year old best friend, Italian Mastiff Kane. While talking about his best friend, he mentioned the first day he got him. He explained, he “was a Christmas gift last year from my fiancée”. Yes, he used the word fiancee when talking about Davis! It looks like all bachelors really do settle down eventually.
News broke about the couple’s engagement last week. The couple, who have been dating for three years, have stayed quiet until Jeter’s post.
In the post, Jeter also admitted to being terrified of animals, particularly dogs. Kane was the first pet the former shortstop has ever owned and he said he “panicked” when he first got him.
