Finally some good news for Bulls fans. Point guard Derrick Rose spoke to the media today and expressed that he was no longer experiencing pain in his knee. Before this morning’s shoot around, Rose told reporters, “Whenever I’m ready to come back, that’s when I’m going to come back.”
Rose underwent a meniscectomy on February 27th on his right knee , the same knee he underwent for in November 2013. He also underwent surgery on his right knee in 2012 after tearing his ACL. After all three surgeries, Rose never experienced pain or swelling luckily.
“I’m feeling good,” Rose said. “I’m trying to do all the right things, put all the positives in the bag and just try to go with it. It’s something that I’ve been doing for a long time with rehab. It’s a grind — definitely a grind — but I’m getting used to it.” He is hoping to participate in contact drills in practice within the next two weeks.
If Rose can come back and return to the player he was before the injury, the Bulls will definitely challenge Cleveland for the Eastern Conference Championship. The Bulls recently welcomed back Jimmy Butler as well. Chicago seems to be getting healthier just in time for the playoffs.
