Everyone is still getting over the shock of the Philadelphia Eagles releasing DeSean Jackson on Friday.  While the cut itself is shocking, it was the reasoning the Eagles gave for it.  Philadelphia did not directly give a reasoning, but instead blaming it on “character issues”.  The release came just minutes after an article posted on NJ.com accused Jackson of being associated with gang members.  After days of slandering the receiver’s character, he will finally go and visit other teams.

The first stop on his visiting tour, Washington D.C.  Yes, the Redskins are consider are a favorite to land Jackson.   The Redskins and Eagles are bitter rivals, but players say they would welcome the Pro Bowl receiver.  One player who has gotten into in the past with Jackson is cornerback DeAngelo Hall.  While the two have never gotten along on the field, Hall said he would welcome him on the team.

Hall said to CSNWashington.com, “If we could add a piece like that … he’s a threat whenever the ball is in [his] hands . . . Some of the things [Jackson] has been going through lately, that’s life. That’s life.  We’ve all been through something, so … if he’s able to come here, man, I’m going to take him under my wing and just try to put him on the right path.”

Hall is right in that Jackson would help Washington’s offense.  Let’s be honest, he would help any offense in the league.  His actions on the field have never been the problem so to see a veteran like Hall say he would take him under his wing could sway the Redskins to sign him.  Plus, it would be quite exciting to see Jackson’s return to Philadelphia as a member of the Redskins!
