Last night’s game was a complete blowout, but it was a very special night for a vey special man.  Speedster Devin Hester cruised into the NFL record books last night after he recorded his 20th career return touchdown.  He passed none other than Deion Sanders who was in the Georgia Dome last night.

During the second quarter, Hester got the punt at the 38 yard line and just took off.  Nobody could catch Hester as he looked like a man on a mission.  He then paid tribute to the man he called his mentor, Deion Sanders, by high stepping it into the end zone for the last ten yards.  Sanders was seen enjoying the tribute.  Unfortunately, it cost the team 15 yards as Hester was given a “taunting” penalty.  Well worth it, considering Atlanta demolished Tampa Bay 56-14.

After the game, Hester sat down with Sanders and the NFL Network analysts and the two had a beautiful heart to heart.  Sanders turned to Hester and said, “I’m overcome with emotions right now Because I love you as a man, as a father, as a husband. I remember the beginning, man. I love you, dude. And I’m so proud of you, man. I’m so proud of you. You know that.”

Hester reciprocated the love, bringing up a story from his days at the University of Miami, saying, “You’ve always been there for me, man.  And I really look up to you. I really do, man.”  He tried to give Sanders the game ball after he broke the record, but it was immediately handed off and prepared to be taken to Canton, OH for placement in the Pro Football Hall of Fame.
