The best story of the football season has to be Cincinnati Bengals’ defensive tackle Devon Still’s daughter Leah. Leah is battling stage four neuroblastoma. The Bengals have decided to help Still in his fight for his daughter and all the other children suffering from cancer. All of the profits from Still’s jersey have gone directly to pediatric cancer research.
Everyone from Saints head coach Sean Payton to Baltimore Ravens wide receiver Torrey Smith have bought Still’s jersey to show their support. Many teams have sent gift baskets to Leah while she recovers from chemotherapy and fights for her life at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia.
Still’s story has gotten so big, Ellen DeGGeneres invited the defensive tackle to be on his show. He was unable to be there in person, but made an appearance via video chat. Still received a standing ovation from Ellen’s crowd and was presented with a $10,000 check for the hospital where Leah stays. DeGeneres also vowed to have celebrities sign her Still jersey so that it can raffled off with the proceeds going to the hospital Leah is staying at. #LeahStrong
