1447088_SP_dodgers_puig_GMF_After their epic brawl earlier this week, MLB has finally decided the punishment for all those involved on the Diamondbacks and Dodgers.  For those who don’t remember, it started with Diamondbacks pitcher Ian Kennedy hitting rookie Yasiel Puig in the face. While that may have been an accident, the rest of these two teams’ actions were clearly not. Dodgers starting pitcher Zack Greinke hit catcher Miguel Montero in the seventh and the benches cleared.  There was no hitting involved and both teams went back to their respective benches.  Kennedy did not let the incident go and intentionally hit Greinke and a malay ensued.  Coaches, players, and trainers all came out looking to fight the other team.  Major League Baseball has punished everyone involved:

Diamondbacks:

Ian Kennedy: 10 games

Eric Hinske: 5 games

Kirk Gibson: 1 game

Dodgers:

J.P. Howell: 2 games

Skip Schumaker: 2 games

Mark McGuire: 2 games

Ronald Belisario: 1 game

Dom Mattingly: 1 game

While they were not suspended, Zack Greinke, Yasiel Puig, Miguel Montero, and Gerardo Parra were all fined.  The Dodgers organization were also fined for allowing two players currently on the disabled list run onto the field. The punishments were not as strong as some people may have expected, but they did send a message.  What do you think about MLB’s punishment?
