Yet another person has spoken out on the Riche Incognito and Jonathan Martin fiasco. This time, it was Miami Dolphins quarterback Ryan Tannehill, who both Incognito and Martin protect. While speaking to the media, he painted a very different picture of the dynamic between the two. Here are some of his main points which only further confuses what exactly happened in Miami.
- Tannehill explains that the “lunchroom” prank, which includes all the teammates getting up as soon as a player sits down, has been pulled on him multiple times.
- He then went on to say if you asked Jonathan Martin who his best friend on the team was, he would have said Richie Incognito.
- When asked which player protected Martin the most, he answered Richie Incognito.
- He went as far as to say that players in the locker room are more upset with Martin than Incognito.
- Martin supposedly shared the voicemail that was leaked to the media with all of his teammates and they laughed about it together.
This only further complicates the depiction of the Dolphins’ locker room. Tannehill clearly paints a picture of Incognito and Martin being good friends who joked around with one another. Nothing about this situation is adding up. If they were like brothers, why would he say such terrible things on that voicemail? It is clear that if they were friends, they no longer have that relationship. This is one of the craziest stories in sports and it likely is the end of at least one of their careers.
