Last night was the first game the Lakers have played since the passing of legendary owner Dr. Jerry Buss. It was a sad moment watching Laker great Magic Johnson tear up as he reflected on his relationship with Buss. Judging by Johnson’s emotions, Buss was so much more than an owner. Johnson hopes that the Buss family keeps the Lakers in their family as Jerry would want that more than anything.

Before the game, Kobe Bryant delivered a speech reflecting on his feelings of the late, great owner. It was a positive look back on how much Jerry has done for the Lakers franchise and the city of Los Angeles. It ended perfectly with a moment of silence and a huge win over the Boston Celtics. Just the way Jerry would have wanted.
