It’s time for the internet to do what it’s best at, connecting people. This time it’s 17-year-old Canadian basketball super fan Corey Groves and Lakers’ superstar LeBron James. Groves suffers from stage four sarcoma cancer and doctors have only projected him a year left to life. This Christmas will likely be one of his last holidays he gets to enjoy.
Groves and his family are headed to Los Angeles for Christmas to witness the bis showdown between the Lakers and Clippers. While there, Groves is hoping to grab the attention of his favorite player, LeBron James. He admires everything about James, both on and off the court.
He told the Toronto Sun, “I know it’s a big wish. Even if I don’t meet him we (his mom and younger brother) will have a great vacation. . . It will be a nice break for all of us.”
James is one of the most generous celebrities. He is always been one to make a kid’s day. Last night during the team’s game, he gave away his game worn shoes to kids.
Let’s hope Corey’s story can reach the king before Christmas and he can make his wish come true!
