It has been a very tough year for the Atlanta Falcons. Once thought to be Super Bowl contenders now will be lucky to finish the season with a .500 record. Running back Jason Snelling getting arrested is definitely not going to help this depleted team.
Snelling was pulled over early this morning after failing to stay in one lane. When the officer approached the vehicle, a strong smell of marijuana was coming from the car, allegedly. When the officer asked Snelling, he admitted that he had been smoking earlier and that he had his grinder in the center console. He said he did not have any other amounts of marijuana in the car.
While that was all the officer found inside the car, when he turned back to Snelling, he noticed he was eating something. When the officer asked him to open his mouth, he noticed that Snelling was trying to swallow the drug. He was taken into custody on the following counts possession of less than an ounce of marijuana, possession of drug related materials, expired/no driver’s license, failure to have insurance, failure to stay in one lane, improper use of license plate, and not having the car registered. He has since been released on bond. A lot of charges that could have all easily been avoided. Not that I condone athletes doing drugs, but if they are going to do it, why not just do it in the privacy of their own home?
