The tight-end position might be on the uphill for the NFL, see the New England Patriots as the perfect example, but for one, it is the end of an era. Atlanta Falcon tight end Tony Gonzalez has announced that the 2012 season will be his last. Gonzalez, 36, has spent 15 seasons in the NFL.
He holds the records for receptions (1,149), receiving yards (13,338), and touchdowns (95) for all NFL tights ends. However, he has never won a playoff game even though he has played in five games. He was in the playoffs this year, but fell to the New York Giants in the wild card round.
