No one is quite sure why the feud started between Michael Strahan and Warren Sapp, but it has now taken on a life of its own. Sapp has been quoted as questioning Strahan’s legacy as a football player and hinting that he does not belong in Canton. Sapp was inducted last year which was Strahan’s first year of eligibility. He did not get in, but is a favorite to get in this year.
Previously the two had just exchanged words, but now Sapp is calling Strahan out. “Pick the spot and I’ll come see you and you can have a dose of it,” he said. Did he just challenge Strahan to a fight? Yes he did and says it is because the former Giants great made it personal. Sapp said he was just saying there are better players than Strahan in this year’s class, and . . . didn’t say anything about his gap tooth or his ‘S’ words or his ‘F’ words that I don’t understand. What the hell is he saying? So if he wants to go personal we can go personal, but I was just stacking his resume against the class.”
It is clear these two will never resolve things and honestly Sapp needs to move on. What did Strahan ever do to him that he has to go after him? Strahan currently holds the single season record at 22.5 and is fifth all-time with 141.5, so eventually he will get into the Pro Football Hall of Fame regardless if Warren Sapp agrees or not. Maybe he is jealous Strahan took over for Regis Philbin and now hosts Live with Kelly and Michael? Maybe he wanted it to be Live with Kelly and Warren? Either way, Sapp sounds bitter for no reason and needs to find something else to occupy his mind with.
