Ever since the news broke that former quarterback Jim Kelly was diagnosed with oral cancer, support has come pouring in for him. In addition, his wife, Jill, has kept fans up to date with his progress as he battles this terrible disease. She has posted moving pictures that include the couple’s daughter laying in the hospital bed with her father and a video of the couple dancing his hospital room on Mother’s Day. Just weeks ago, the couple announced that he had received his last chemotherapy session and they were hopeful he was finally cancer-free.
Unfortunately, he is still in the hospital, having to wait six to eight weeks for an MRI to determine if he is in fact cancer free and ready to go home finally. This weekend was Kelly’s 28th annual golf tournament in western New York. He was unable to attend the tournament, but a few special guests stopped by his hotel to lift his spirits. Former rival and quarterback great Dan Marino stopped by along with former Bills general manager Bill Polian, and Kelly’s college coach Howard Schellenberger.
