It is with great sadness that I write about the passing of former outfielder Darryl Hamilton. Hamilton was found dead in his home from multiple gun shot wounds. Hamilton’s wife, Monica Jordan, was also found dead of an apparent self-inflicted gun shot wound. Investigators believe Jordan shot Hamilton before turning the gun on herself. The couple’s 13-month-old child was found in the home, unharmed physically.
Police were called to the couple’s home, located in the Houston suburbs, about a “disturbance”. Hamilton spent time with the Milwaukee Brewers, Texas Rangers, San Francisco Giants, Colorado Rockies, and the New York Mets. MLB Commissioner Rob Manfred released a statement about the tragedy before becoming an analyst.
