It has only been a few days since the devastating news hit the baseball world that Gary “Kid” Carter lost his fight to brain cancer and passed away. Most people in the tri-state area will remember Carter as the hero of 1986 New York Mets championship year, but he did spend quite a good amount of time with the Montreal Expos. As a tribute to Carter, the Montreal Canadians are wearing Carter jerseys with the number 8 on the back as that was his number when he played. RIP Gary Carter you are truly missed and will always be remembered as one of the good guys on and off the field.
