After living through one of the scariest moments in sports history, Houston Texans head coach Gary Kubiak dropped by the Texans practice to see his players. During Sunday Night Football, Kubiak collapsed to the ground when he attempted to run off the field for halftime. Kubiak was in serious pain unable to open his eyes. He was immediately taken to the hospital where he learned that he suffered a transient ischemic attack, a mini stroke. He is out of the hospital and is in good spirits.
While he is still not ready to call the plays on Sunday, he did pay a visit to the Texans players during practice. Interim head coach Wade Phillips considered the visit the “highlight of practice”. Kubiak eased his players’ minds telling them that he felt good. He also wanted to tell them how much he missed all of them. The players were clearly shaken after finding out that their coach was being rushed to the hospital. Kubiak and his family are still in my thoughts and pryers while he fights to get back on the sidelines!
