This should be the Giants’ definition of fun

I would like to preface this article by saying I HATE hearing athletes complain. Anyway, two of the Giants’ superstars have done just that. However, I can’t get mad since they were complaining about their own performance. At the end of last season and into the playoffs, the Giants’ defense was far too superior for any of the elite offenses in the league to score on. They had one of the most feared pass rush defenses and had a lot to live up to coming into this season. Going into Week 5 after a tough loss to their division rivals Eagles, the Giants have not done terrible, but they have definitely underperformed for the standard that they set for themselves. Most would say that it would be due to all the injuries they have had this early on in the season. However, the Giants put the blame on themselves. Giants’ captain Justin Tuck has taken personal responsibility for the lack of explosiveness.

“Let me just say this, I’m not having that much fun, either. When I find out the cause of why I’m not having as much fun, I’ll let you know,” Tuck said. “I suck. That’s what I’m going to go back to. Yeah, I suck.”

Another player to come out and comment on the lack of big defensive stops was rising star Jason Pierre-Paul. “I’m not having that fun I’m used to,” Jason Pierre-Paul said. “I don’t have that energy like I had last year. And that goes for the other guys, too. You can see it in their eyes that they’re not having fun with the game. They got to find [themselves] and I got to find myself so I’m just looking to find myself.”

Trust me, the fans are not having any fun wither watching a lackluster defense. The defense that showed in North Carolina needs to be there every single week. Everybody knows how good they can be, they are their own worst enemies. They have the talent injuries or not to beat every team currently in the league. It is theirs to lose. Luckily, they play the 0-4 Browns and a rookie quarterback on Sunday. If they can’t step up this week, then their playoff hopes are in serious jeopardy.

Comments

  1. The Jekyll and Hyde of the NFL, the play erratically in the regular season and then play so well in the playoffs.

  2. That’s typical NY Giant football, they only play when they are motivated. It’s the most annoying thing in the world, even winning 2 Superbowls in the last 4 years, they are always on a roller coaster ride.
