Normally we see Patriots’ tight end Rob Gronkowski acting a fool at a club or music festival. Today, however, he hung out with a huge Patriots fan, 27-year-old Lauren Meizo, who is awaiting a second heart transplant at Brigham & Women’s Hospital in Massachusetts. Lauren made a video begging the tight end to come see her and posted it on YouTube. Here is her video:
Of course the video went viral and made it’s way to Gronk. Along with his brother Gordie, Gronk showed up and surprised Lauren in her hospital room. Sadly, she has been living there for three months while she awaits her second heart transplant in five years as well as a kidney transplant. Hopefully,the surprise helped to cheer her up during such a difficult time. Gordie posted a picture of the three of them on his Instagram with the caption, “Surprised Lauren Meizo w @gronk. It was great you allowed us to have a meet and greet with you! #gronksandwich#meizostrong“.
