This year, the Honda NHL All-Star game will be taking place in Columbus, Ohio, and Peter Laviolette of the Nashville Predators and Darryl Sutter of the Los Angeles Kings will serve as head coaches for the event. Both of them were chosen under the All-Star selection process, which means that the head coach of the team with the highest points percentage in the NHL through games of Saturday, Jan. 10, earns the right to lead one of the All-Star teams.

The Predators, coached by Laviolette, have recorded a League-leading points percentage of .725, and have won 27 games this season so far. Laviolette will not be alone to coach though, he will be joined by members of his Nashville coaching staff. This will be Laviolette’s second career NHL All-Star appearance since 2011, when he shared coaching duties with Alain Vigneault.

Head coach of the defending Stanley Cup champions, Sutter, will direct and coach the other All-Star Team, and just like his opposing coach, he will be joined by members of his Los Angeles coaching staff.

The All-Star excitement and festivities will take place Jan. 24-25, and it will be the first time it is hosted in Columbus. The League’s midseason showcase will include the Honda NHL All-Star Skills Competition on Jan. 24 at 7 p.m. ET, and the All-Star Game on Jan. 25 at 5 p.m. ET. Both games will air on NBCSN, CBC, and TVA Sports.
