This is an example of famous athletes using their star power in a positive. Most fans do not like the Miami Heat for personal reasons. Whether it be the way Lebron James famously “took his talents to South Beach” or the cockiness that this team has and could not finish in the NBA Finals last year. None of that is important. I give my respect for them taking a stance on a very big news story. Trayvon Martin was the innocent teenager who was gunned down by a neighborhood crime-watch volunteer for looking “suspicious”. Martin looked suspicious for wearing a hoodie. George Zimmerman, the volunteer who shot Martin, says he acted in self defense and has not been charged. Heat players posted the picture all wearing hooded sweat shirts with the hashtag WeAreTrayvonMartin. Everyone wants justice for Trayvon. He did not deserve this and someone should be held responsible for this tragedy.
