Whether or not Daniel Jacobs makes the team, this story shows that dreams do come true. The former Iraqi veteran lost his left leg below the knee and suffered serious hand and foot injuries while overseas in 2006. Jacobs has had over 50 surgeries to repair his injuries. He has returned to his naval infantry and got a chance to try tryout for the Los Angeles Dodgers. While the Dodgers did not announce signing Jacobs, it just goes to show where hard work can get you!
