And another one bites the dust. It seems like the number of quarterbacks on the Jets roster is continually shrinking. After waiving Tim Tebow, the Jets have now lost David Garrard who has called it quits. After acquiring Garrard in the offseason from the Jacksonville Jaguars, the quarterback has decided to retire due to lingering knee injuries. The 35-year-old claims that his knee has been swelling up after every practice and he thinks its time to end his misery. He has been held out of an NFL game for two years because of these injuries. With Garrard’s departure that leaves four quarterbacks on New York’s roster. However, the battle is now between Mark Sanchez and rookie Geno Smith. Maybe Garrard just could not handle the media circus that comes with being a backup quarterback on the Jets!
